Über Carl-Philipp Hackstein
Born in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1987, the different steps of my scientific career have led me to Erlangen and Minneapolis for my Bachelor- and Master-studies and later to Bonn for a Ph.D. on microbial translocation, liver fibrosis, and viral infections, jointly supervised by Percy Knolle and Zeinab Abdullah. After my PhD, I joined the lab of Paul Klenerman at the University of Oxford, first as a DFG research fellow and later as a regular Postdoc to work on innate-like and microbe-reactive T cells at barrier sites in humans and mice. To build upon this work and deepen our understanding of the role microbe-reactive T cells play in local and systemic immune responses, I will join the Institute of Molecular Immunology in July 2023.
